Ten days ago, at Waco, Texas, prayer
meetings were held to pray for cessation
of the long drought. Last Wednesday
night people of the lowlands were moving
out of their homes to keep from being
drowned."
A number of young men from this place,
in response to an invitation troin a party of
young ople from Miilerstown and vicini
ty, ho were camping out, drove to the
camp last Friday evening, took auppcr,
and spent a very pleasant tmi, coming

An alarming disease has broken out
amonir the peopie of Lockport Pa , west of
the mountains. Many have died. A per
son with tbn disease grows rapidly ill with
in the period of three davs when vomiting
takes place. The tonsils swell so rapidly
that the throat is almost closed.

phine. Everybody believod that he had
died. A committee of G. A. R. men start

ceased veteran, but before they reached hia
dwelling place they met some member ot
his family who informed them that they left
him at home In the enjoyment ot health,
taking an after supper smoke.

A small wreck at Lewistown Jun'tion,
on Thur-lay last, was the came of an
east bound freight train being rdered to
proceed on its way on the west bound
trartt as tar as the Narrows cross over
switches, wheie it was to regain tho cast
bonnd track. Thj train was a long one,
and was drawn by two engines. The morn,
inn belni loggy, the engineer ran past the
switches at a high rate of speed and crash
