at 11 o'clock.
Tho Grand March took place at one o
clock, aa l from that time until nine o'clock
in the evening the dancing was kept up
without intermission, excepting a short
tune in which to take lunch.
The music was splendid and was thought
so by all. The figure caller's voice was not
equal to the occion, and a great many
complaints were silently and londly enter
ed up against him. But his voice was
neither to be raised by costing nor by
threats of violence. .The music was fur
nished by Taylor's orchestra from Lancas
ter city.
All atnrls of dancers wera present, nd it
was very interesting to sny one who did
not dauce to watch the dancers and listen
to tba excellent music. Uouad dances
seemed to be most in faror by the young
ladies, but many square dances wore indul
ged in. The round dancing appears selfish.
The majority of the people who attend
the picnics belong to substantial families
of Juniata and neighboring counties.
