died at Doyiestown, last Friday, from
pleurisy, aged G7 years He was self
made. He worked on a farm, taught
school, clerked in a store, till he was 27
years of age and then began the study
of law, and became a successful lawyer.

At Meyersdale, Somerset county, the
Sunday dragged itself along too slowly
for four oity drummers, and to pass the
time more hurriedly tbey engaged at a
game of ball playing, which so shocked
tbe religious sentiment of the eommun
ity that the young men were arrested for
having violated the Sunday laws. Tbey
were each fined $10, and of oourse they
paid the cost of the suit.
Great Excitement.
Yeakly and Son have created an ex
citement in local nercbantile circles by
