Bon, a widow, living in this city, is a
claimant before the Pension Bureau
in Washington, on the ground that
her husband, Alfred Anderson, was
ruptured by a shot received while
eervincr in Company K of the Fourth
N. Y. Iiejriment in the erection of
fortifications at Newport News, Vir
ginia. Anderson committed suicide
by banging while temporarily insane
in April, 1880. Owing to contradic
tory statemente of tha widow and a
romraJo of the deceased concerning
the side which was ruptured, it be
came necessary to exunic tho body
from Greenwood Cemetery, in order
to examine the truss, as it had been
buried with the remains. Tne truss
