Joseph Long, of Fayette township, is one
ol a family of twelve brothers. They
should attend the Centennial Celebration
next year, take a lent or room there, aud
allow themselves to b seen as a family.
Their namber would attract attention.
Twelve boys from one mother are seldom
met with, and is enough of itself to create
considerable notoriety, but when joined to
the fact that they are all large men, aver
aging 210 pounds, they become a great
wonder. Their aggregate weight ia 2520
pounds. They should not miss the Cen
tennial Celebration.
On last Thursday Nr. William Noble,
of Port Royal, while at work ia a well at
Thompson town, met .with a serious acci
dent. He w as at work at the bottom ot the
well, whea a plank dropped down, striking
him on the head with such force that he
tell senseless, in which state he lay a con
siderable length of lime. These In the im
mediate vicinity oi the well were entirely
frightened out of their good Samaritan vir
tue for a time, until a cui unacquainted
with Ihe circumstances of the accident
came that way aud entered the well, and
rescued Mi. Noble by securing him to a
rope, by which he a as drawn by those above
lo the surface. Noble remained at Thomp
son town till Ihe next day, when he started
lor home alone. He had aot proceeded far
wntil he fell into aa aconsciotis state, from
the eOooU of the injuries received, and
dropped to the floor of his baggy, where he
lay till he was taken out by bis friends in
Port Royal, the horse having kept the road
and crossed, tlie railroad, safely without a
