Coal miners at Ilaslcton, this State,
are on a strike. A despatch Irom tbat
place, under date of tbe 27th ult., says:

the boilers, slapped all pnmps, net fire
to tbe engine bouse and shot one of the
engineers at liuck mountain, eleven
miles from bere. Tbe man is not se
riously wounded. It is almost impos
sible to keep the pumps going. The
police are assisting at Klkley and Upper
Lehigh.

den which gives women the absolute
