The "hardware goods" of Mr. John Mu
tliersbangh have been arriving steadily tot
some time. Their opening will take place
soon in the room that Is baing rapidly fin
ished in the new business house of Robert

The Sunday School of the Presbyterian
Church will hold their annual celebration in
Mr. John Schyrcier's wood to-morrow-Thursday.
The school will meat at the
church at 9 o'clock sharp in the morn
ing, before going to the wood.
Mrs. Margaret McCrura died at the resi
dence of her son-in-law, J. J. Moore, In
Kansas City, Mo., on the 26th ult., aged
about 73 years. Mrs. McCrum was a native
r this county. 8 he has many friends here,
and a number of relations who are deeply
touched and b2reave-r.her death,

rats and 11 ground hogs and a score or
more of skunks. Ho is a skilled trapper
and successful hunter, and koejis from 8 to

When the Democrat and Register people
get a dozen ahead of the Sentinel with their
subscription list, they boast of it in their
paper for six months. Don't get scared,
brethren, you are not now to ba taken to
task for fibbing. It is only proper to say
that the Scniiuel is the source of Intellec
tual entertainment and business informa
tion for 5,000 people every week.
Tut threatening appearance tf the
weather on Saturday kept hundreds of
people away from Riverside Parle,'
from witnessing tho testing of the
track. Those who were present and
the crowd numbered hundreds speak
in the highest terms of it. They
say there is not a finer track in the
State. The horses that were announced
last week were there and took the
course, and gave infinite entertainment
fo the spectators while the testing of
the (rack was going on, and from that
time down to this have been the sub
ject of very many animated conversa
tions. "Honest Bob" and his com
petitors will not be forgotten for a gen

Last Wesde&day afternoon while Mr.
Enos Uergy was driving a pair of
horses in a bugfr out Lost Creek Valley
to his bcnio at Jericho Mills, the ani
mals frightened at something at the
roadside and ran away, throwing Mr.
Bergy out. He, however, held fast to
the lines, and by and by stopped the
horses. He was not much Lurt. The
bugn-y was somewhat damaged.
