Tun Senrso ELECTIONS Anorasuno,--Tha
bill introduced by Mr. Lowry, to change the
time of holding the township, borough and
city elections in this county, heretoffife occur
ring in March, to the same day as the State
election, in October, has passed both branches'
of the Legislature, and , only wants the Gov
ernor's signature, which it will undoubtedly,
receive, to become,a tali. The act provides
that the various local officers chosen' ast
spring shall hold Over until fall, when their
successors will be chosen—thus doing away
with the-necessity of holding elections this
month. What advantage is to be gained by
the policy of holding all our elections - on the
same day it would puzzle the Senator • him
.self to explain. By changing the time for
choosing our local officers to October, every
thing is made Whinge upon ptlity issues, and
there is less likelihood of an 'efficient set of
officers being selected than under the old sys s
tem. The designed to give the Repnb
