Tux PARTY OF TOE rEOFLZ..—The Boston
Courier says that one of the most cheering
and hopeful things for the Democracy is
that during the Fe t.,:tour years it• has got
rid it the bulk of the scallawags who
cursed the party in tithes past. Some
went over to the secei.sio.liatp, and like
Breckinridge and Sanders will be heard
of no more. Others embraced radicalism
for what they could make out of it, and are
a stench in the public nostrils everywhere.

A BOY'S Lawsurr. —Under a great tree

the two boys, broke the nut in two, and
said: "The one piece of shell belong: to
him who first saw the nut , the other
piece of shell belongs to him tvl.to first

CONTiCTIONZILIES AND FIRE WORKS. —llles
ors. Bener & Burgess, Erie, Pa., are largely
engaged in the Wholesale Confectionery,
Fruit, and Notion Trade. 'They have the
reputation of manufacturing the very finest
Candy—both plain and fancy. Their stock
of Notions and Small Wares is large and ex•
tensive. Oranges, Lemons, Oysters, &cc., they
make a speciality, and can furnish them in
quantities to suit. They are agents for the
Excelsior Fire Works—the best made—and
can fill orders for the country trade or exhi
bitions. Grocers and dealers in their line
will do well to call and see their stock; or, if
ordering goods, they may be sure of having
their orders filled promptly. They promise
to supply first class goods at lowest market
prices. mayll'6s-tf
