Joxis was found on Tuesday morning in a
small frame building on Sixth Street, near
Scusrs 5 likuct's Grocery. She occupied the

of the neighbors since Thursday, the Mayor
was applied to and at his instance an entrance
effected, when her dead body, iu a shocking
condition, wee discovered In the - beck room.—
She was in her night clothes, l and by her side
was a bottle of whiskey; but-Whether her death
resulted directly from the eieessive use of ar

not known Although, according to the testi
mony of those living close by she had been
drinking freely for the spiteel r of eight or ton
days, yet it seems probable that she died from
the effects of an internal rupture, blood being
all over her person and about the floor. It
need hardly he said that her appearance was
repulsive in :I he extreme.
