Witt TE GIRL A.BDCCTED La A N sotto.—
Mrs. Ann Puffy, of Boston yesterday nom
phoned at the Mayor's office, that her
twice, Isabella Louisa Ragman, an 'English
girl. only sixteen years old, who arrived at
'l4stie g arden from Liverpool by the ship
Emerald Isle on Friday, had been. taken
away from the emigrant depot to some
place unknown, by Samuel Lewis, the col
ored cook of the vessel. Two officers of
the twenty- sixth precinct took the matter
in charge, and found the young girl at a
low negro dance-house: kept by J. Sewell.
at \0.,, f" Worth street, Sambo and his
inammorata, whose affections, it appeals
he had gained during the voyoge, were
brought before the Mayor. It was ascer
tained that Lewis had induced Isabella to
accompany him to the den in Worth street
under promise of marriage. He is a good
looking negro, and it is said that he has
done such things before, and that the pro
prietors of the low houses employ him to
bring them likely -- damsels. One other
accompanied his dupe in the present case
to the house in Worth street, and has since
left it for another house of similar reputa
tion. He was sent to the Tombs and held
for examination. His victim was detain
ep a% a witness.—\. Y. Times
mar Among a lot of convicts todged in
the Ohio Penitentiary, at Columbus, on
Tuesday, there vras a young man named
Price, the son of a Connecticut judge of
excellent reputation. Iliserime was coun
terfeiting and his s-entence for seven yetirs.
Admitustration has carried every
Congressional district in Georgia, with the
,xception of two. The delegation to the
House will therefore remain divided, as at
!present. in Mk•issippi, in the guberna
torial contest, then have also been large
gains for the Administration.
