There are no means for keeping separate the male and female inmaten It is so arrauged tjiifl it is impossible to remodel the Jail, so as to effect any permanent or important change. Ledge, Twelve hundred feet. 41 I'ony Ex. Ledge, Twelve bundled feet. '• Overland Ex. Ledge, Twelve hundred feet. The Officers and lioard of Directors of this Company present the above combination of twenty rich and vain able Silver Ledges, comprising twenty-five thousand feet, which they confidently believe embraces a proper ty for protltablo silver milling unsurpassed by any on tbq ParitiC coast. This pronorty' wps selected and locuted by pratrfica) and experienced miners, among the first, in North Union ami Miuanpith, which arq justly' regarded among the best silver mini nt? districts in the State, on account of ; the rictinessof the ores, tho width of thevei«*s, the fine timber on the mountain, und tlie salt basins and grass iu the valleys. This Coiupapy do nu| design to set forth statement* I that will not be verified, and preter uuder-estimatlng what they holieve the results will prove Fuel is an iteinot great expense in many of the districts The A Curry, Ophir, Savage, an I other celebrated mines in Washoe, are paying irom fifteen to twenty dollars per cord for wood. A twenty ttamp mill will consume fif teen cords of wood per day, at fls per cord, amounting to $225 per day. In tho Mammoth and North Union districts it would be simply thecuttine.fi percoid.orftio per day. There tn a large saving on thM itfcin In the c nfumptionof unit, which is larg ly used In mining operations, the saving would not be less than SOO per iiay over many other districts. In these two items there is an advantage iu cost of running a twenty itamp mill in these districts would make a handsome yearly profit of itself. It la not the intention of the Company to work all this property ut the present tiui#, but to bold it in reserve lor |utuie disposition, either to fprpi a pait of it into otlier organizations, or to erect other mills, as may be expeditrtt A twenty stamp mill near a well selected lode will pay a largo dividend on the capital thcfiist wot king year, and leave a reserved fund In tho treasury, to be applied to the erection of another mill. This Company intend to erect a first-clasH mill near the Winnebago lode, which is four and one-hall feet wide, aqd Is considered one of the richest silver ledges in Nevada, and %ill atrord au ample supply of ore for a twenty-stamp mill. I'rbfessar lllatchly, who is a scientific, reliable, and very gentleman, says of this lode : 14 This is a strong vein, Mowing every indication depth pnd pehnanenre. The ore is of great richntst, and well diffused throughout the. vein, und oil the' ore will pay for working from the vtty sur face. This it a very valuable nine and can be made to pay from tht ben inning" A . ULATCHLY. Miniug Engineer. It is mors than doubtful if Professor lllatchly speaks in these terms of any other mine in Nevada. A twenty stamp mill < au crush twenty tons per day ; but say that it crushes 15 tOt)s per day, (choice speci mens from the Winnebago lode'has assayed $1132 per ton), it is a low estimate to say that it will give an av ••I ago yield of $l5O per ton, Ufcen a« It comes from the I vein. Fifteen tons per 'day would yield ss*2io; the rx penses of crushing in these districts will not exceeds3o per ton,or s4sofor 16 tons, leaving a net profit of slrfoo for a working day, or a monthly of over $40,000 for one mill. This statement may seem large, but it is proven by the results of other mills in districts less favorably lo cated. We confidently believe there.is no other Invest ment will nay such large returns as silver property, when well located, and the mills properly managed. The managing director is an experienced and practical silver ore woiker in all its details ; be is iu the prime of life, of excellent habits, and indomitable energy ; he ha< been long and favorably known to our President, {/bv. Ramsey, and to Mr. Frank Steel, one of the Board of Dire- tors, and with whose good opinion of Air Hamil ton, the Hon. A. VV Kondall, First Assistant postmaster General, an<} Ooy. The plan of organization of this Company ofTers pe culiar advantages to the subscribers. It jives them se curity, insures them a interest upon their money, and provides for ita reimbursement In a short time, leav ing them their interest in the stock free of i»sf. Tne Compauy reserves for the treasury 1350,0 X). or 70,000 shares of stock, and will sell 40,000 share* at par valne of $6.00, full paid. Theee forty thousand shares are preferred stock to bear 26 per cent, dividend* ner annum out of the first earnings of the mioee until the par value is refunded. It alao shares in dividends with the common stock all profits of the mines over and above twenty-five per cent., the Compuny reserving the right to redeem this prefeired stock at any time by the pay- Blent of the par value thereof, ond interest. The pre ferred Stock twenty fjvo per cen£-,'dr otherwise, to take grade with the common stock, will share profits of the mines equally. This equitable plan is aa evidence of the good faith of this Company, and their confidence in this property. It guarantees to the subscriber the whole property and improvements for Uie payment of the preferi ed Stock, and insures the payment of it speedily, leaving his tereet in 'the Company without coat. Mo other stock will be sold, excepting (he preferred stock, until the Company's mines pay dividends. This Company have a liberal charter granted by spe cial act of the Legislature of Pennsylvania. The title to this property has been carefully examined and pro nounced good. The product of silver mines is differ#nt from iron, coal, copp#r, or lead, which ere influenced by the fluctuations of the morket.
