ConßKCTtOff.—ln our issue of last
week two or three typographical errors
occurred in Dr. Young's sermon. The
worst of which was at the close of the
second column of tho (second page. It
should read as follows : "It will be sanc
tified to us as a nat'on, if we learn to
ceate from man." Tho types made it,
"ream from war." "It is said that tens
of thousands of these brave men fell a
pacrifice," should read. "It is sad that

Will give one more exhibit ion of tho
celebrated horse, Sir Henry, this Tuesday
evening. Last evening the canvass was
crowded to ouerflowing,—some 500 per
svii wjrj suppOH'! 11»lo present, tnd many
were compelled to remain ou the outside
and were thus disappointed of the pleas
ure of witnessing the Wonderful feats of
this Well trained animal. If you desire
.o witness the unexcelled performances
and tricks of Sir Henry, you should at
tend this evening, as it will bo the last
opportunity that you will have to gratify
your curiosity by witnessing an exhibi

has over a noble part of tho animal crea

The earnest Aid zealous labors of a loyal
people secured the great victory in 1864,
and made the war, which our enemies de-
nounccd as a failure, a glorious excess in
1805.
Our flap has been maintained— our en
emies destroyed—our Government pre
served, and peace re-established. Let ev
ery friend, who aided in this result, take
measures to be represented in that Con
vention. We must see to it that the
f'ruift of our success arc not hist to the
Nation.
Business of vast importance will lie pre

district in the State should be repre

gives leave to publish the following ac
count ol what he heard Jeff. Davis say
just before the breaking of out the war.
We use his words:
"I heard Mr. Davis utter the follow
ing words in a Southern towD, where he
deliver an address in November 1860.
I did not hear the whole speech, only
the words quoted, as I passed by the
crowd of listeners :
" 'What! coerce a sovereign State !
attempt to deprive us of our most ines
timable rights!
" 'Lot Mr. Lincoln try it, or Mr. Dou
glass cither, and we will hang them high
er than Hainan, and the only difference
I should make would be that [humorous
ly] as Mr Lincoln is considerably taller
than- Mr. Douglass, wo should have to
build his gibet (standing on his toes and
reaching up his hand) a lcetle highor
than that for Douglass.' "
KOBINO THE GOVERNMENT,; —The
Portsmouth (N. H.) Chronicle says that
"quite a sensation was .caused among
Certain Navy Yard workoieu on Tuesday,
we understand, on accouut of the pro

chest prior to its leaving the yard. In
obeying this order some developments
n ore made which are likely to conflict
.seriously with the settlements of the ac
counts of the implicated parties."
