to prepare the people for that tremendous
conflict. It is the duty of all Plower:its
who know the truth themselves, to .-ee to it
that their less enlightened or less f•oitunate
neighbors are also provided with the means
of voting intelligently, and thus saving their
country from the black pall of Mongrelism
and robbery. The only way to accomplish
this glorious result is by circulating maga
zines and newspapers which expose and ex
plain the rascality of the Mongrels. Among
these publications, none is superior to THY

of this statement. The editor throws a

I FASHION Uonstr.--The New York
Evening Mull thus gossips relative to the
coming fashions : •
Small bonnets promise to retain pre-em
inence ; aud, if it will be any consolation to
our readers, we beg to announce to them in
connection with this fact, that the chignon,
are worn higher and larger than ever. They
are now made in hollow 'delta and Tffs, so
as to be exceedingly light upon the head.
This coming full and winter an addition
will be made to the costume, on very cold
days, of a wrap, consisting of a round cloak,
or "Colleen I3awn," io Scotch tartan.
Flowers are worn in round and horsc•ahoe
wreath', the centre touching the forehead.
Dresies are to be puffed out very much at
the back this winter, and the trains short
ened.
One Of the latest novelties is the Cape
May mantle. It is generally made, in scar
let or black eashmere, and edged with fringe.
It is round in at the hack, but arranged to
fill in a deep pointed hood, which is orna
mented with a tassel. The ends are pointed
in front,• It is very fashionable fur morning
promenades and seaside wear.
Little scarlet jackets, and black jackets
embroidered in colors, are the favorites for
breakfast wear, over white or light dresses,
and by older ladies, close-knitted bawls. in.
