Lu.lwig, of lirady township, was sued for
a large sum by a man who be had attend
ed iu a case of an accidental injury to a
foot. A part of the foot bad to be ampu
tated, and the sufferer asked damage for
mal practice. It was proved, however,

A new route for the Suubury & Erie
Railroad has been run between lJuona Vis
ta and Tioncata, a distance of seventeen
miles. The coai.e is up Owl Creek Sum
mit, in MeKcan county ; then down Ten
Mile Itun to liowers. Ibis avoi.:s all
tuunelling. The whole line, from Sinne-
manoning 10 nonesia, in new nu.,,
the heaviest grade only 52 4-0 feet to the
mile. The road can be constructed its
whole length, it is said, from Sunbury to
Krie, without a single tuunel. The heav-
iest cutting on the whole road will not
eseecd thirty feet.

The wool factory of Mr. Abram Stadon,
in Hepburn' township, Lycoming county,
