JteyAniong the Democrats in the House
of Representatives at Washington who
Lave come out openly against the Lecomp
ton Constitution, are Mr. Suaw cf 111.
and Mr. Hickman of Pa. Mr. Hickman
" said if Mr.Buchanan's real views had been
known "prior to the election of 185G,
there is no telling how large a majority
there would have been against him. Let
Kansas be forced into the Union with the
Lecompton Constitution, and there will be
an end of national platforms, and the be
ginning of sectional Presidents."
SSTbo President has presented the
fraudulent minority Lecompton Constitu
tion to Congress in a long and partizan
message, urging its acceptance. All the
power of the Government and of the
Elavcocraey will be put forth to push it
throngh. An aDgry debate was com
menced in each House upon the reception
of the Message, which is a re-hash of the
former views of Pierce and Buchanan on
the same subject.
The attempt to admit Minnesota as a
Free State, it is shadowed forth by Sena
tor Hunter, of Va., will be resisted unless
Kansas comes in at the Eame time as a
Slave State.
There are numberless " rumors" as to
tbo probability of the success of this crow
ning act of tho Kansas plot. Let the free
people of tbo North make their real feel
ings known, and it may be defeated
otherwise, we fear, it will triumph, and
thus inaugurate a civil war, ending in dis
solving the present Union.

Western desperadoes, are organising for

is to be hoped the Mormons will file off to
