Important from Kansas.
Iy tho Lawrence Herald of Frce.'om
we learn that ft weik ago smiil parties
were goiog over into the territory from
Missouri, spreading themselves in various
directions for the purpose of voting. These
parties crowded all the public highways
in Missouri, aod wero passing to the
western part of the territory. Ten entered
vrajont, all filled icilh men, had passed
through Tccumseh on their way to the
western settlements of Kansas. Col. Ti
tus announces a sure victory of the pro
slavery men. He says :
"All the Indians, who were with them,
would vote; aod, besides, he knew of
more than a thousand pro-slavery men in
Missouri who had claims in the Shawnee
reserve, who would be on the ground, ami
pro-slarery jiuhjn tcould receive their totes.
The lilue Lodges would seud hundreds,
yes, thousands, into the territory not
in an army, but quietly, who would claim
a residence, and would, in like manner,
vote. Thy hud lieen orinnizixij fur this
purpose since hist fjiriny.
St. Louis, Oct. 5 The Qaiuduro
Chiiuloican of tho 1st instant, says that
nearly a thousand Missourians have cross
ed into Kansas, between Quicdaro and
Weston, for the ostensible purpose of ca
tering lands. Rut well iuformcd parties
iu Missouri declare this imigration is for
political purposes. Evidcnco of concerted
action along the whole border is becoming
more apparent, but violence is not appre
hended. KAXSAS. We give all the news we
have from Kansas just as it comes. It
seems the Border Ruffians do not march
in fighting order, this time the U. S.
troops being stationed at the polls, under
the rule of Border Ruffians peace and elec
tion officers, throughput, there is no ne
cessity for them to fight. Under all the
circumstances, we do not sec how the Free
State mcu cau have fair play at all. The
Officers are all against them the Appor
tionment is against them ; everything is
against them, except the Majority of Set
tiers and the Right. May God send them
a safe deliverance from tho perils which
euviron them ! I
