A Good Anecdote.
During the inauguration of General
Tsylor at WaUiDgtoD, D. C, March 4th,
1819, the police regulators, as sual, re
quired that after tho tpeevh of the new

tho Capital Grounds should be closed, and
do carriages of any kind allowed to piss,
until the speech was finished, to prevent
confusion.
Tho Minister of all the Kugsias, M. Bo
disco, was very lite, and after the speech

haste, the horses covered with foam, when
the coaohuiau shouted to the guard," Open

orly of Vandrntice's Tread Vomer over the or
dinary five horse power now 111 use in the
West Branch country ,for threshing out grain,
have purchased the patterns and ncht to
make them. We are now making and have
on hand a large number, which we propose
to introduce on the plan if they don't answer
to the letter of theguarantee given with each
cf them, the machine will be taken back and
money refunded, if paid. .They are now
almost the only entire i nresnme siacumes
in use in Chester, Montgomery. Merks and
Itelaware counties. Their alvanta;es are
that they will do almost double the work, ac
cording to the number of horses used, than
the old machines will do; fV'they will save
