THE GahROTE. The garrote appears at
last to have been introduced into Phila
delphia. On last Friday morning, about
two o'clock, as a gentleman was passing
along Market street, near Eighth, he was
attacked by two men, who threw the noose
of a rope over his neck, and throwing him j
down oo his back, robbed him of a small
amount of moqey he had in bis possession.
The man remained insensible on tbe pave- j
ment for sometime, before be resoverel '
from the effects of the strangling.

been very unfortunate with his hogs. A
