nent feature of tbe Anti-Nebraska caucus
at the Capitol to-night, was a speech by
Gen. Pomeroy, who responded to a gener
al call to bear from the State of Kansas.
Iu regard to the public opiuiou there, he
said, tbe pcoplo were anxious to have the
Stale admitted with the Topeka Constitu
tion. Emigration was puuriug into Kau
sas at the rate of a thousand a week, the
enumeration being made at Kansas City.
Ho graphically described the alleged inva
sion of the Territory by Missourians and
the threatened capture by thani of Law
rence, and denounced the elections in that
territory as illegal. His assurance that
