contract price for the Hotel completed, is

The Susquehanna Railroad is getting

The Elmira Republican says that 5
miles of the Williauisport and Elmira road,
from Troy to Elmira, will be completed
and the cars ruuniog by the 1st of Janu
ary. We are truly glad to hear it. Wc
have always had great faith in this road,

A strong effort is now making by the
printers aud editors in the United States
to erect a suitable monument to the mem
ory of Franklin in Philadelphia. A meet
ing was held in the City on the 2d int.,
to adopt measures aud devise means. No
printer or editor could refuse aid to so
praiseworthy an object.
