JAt'OH t;t;I)V. of Kl llullalo. has been repeatedly recommended for Commissioner at also a good frame Tenant House and Stable on this time and he was requested to state, last i the farm, and an excellent Spring of water at Saturdav. whether he was a candidate. Jlis the door. state of cultivation, having recently been limed over; a good Limekiln is on the premises, and a Limestone Quarry within one-half mile; the land is Limestone and ISiver bottoms, of the best quality. About 1C0 acres are cleared and the residue well Timtiered. and all under good fence, conveniently diided into fields with water mnnine throush nearly all oi mem. i nere reply was that he had not sought norexpectea the office, and that the state of affairs at home would not permit him to take the field as a candidate. At the same time, if the voters saw lit to elect him without his personal soli citation of their sufl'rages, he should feel proud of the honor, and would serve them to the best of his ability. Mr. Gundy lost about 1,000 by the recent tornado, and has not yet had time lo restore his fences, etc., to order, so that ii would not be proper for him, even if he desired it, lo ask for surmort. These are Ihe facts in toe case. Many persons from different townships have urged that he be presented as a canaiuaic and with this explanation, please announce that Jacob Gundy will be voted for as County Commissioner on the Whig Nomination day. No one who knows Capt.Gandy can doubt hie intecrritv. or his entire fitness lor mat res. nonsible oost. Those who wish him elected, must take proper measures to secure his nom ination first.
