The Supreme Court has decided
that the couuly commissioners of l'liili
delphia, have uo right to subscribe, in their
.jQiiial capacity, to the Sunbury and Erie
Kailroad, without the consent of tho coun
ty board. Tho county board is made up
of the senators and representatives elect
from the -city and county of Philadelphia,
and thus far has shown no disposition to
further the designs of the Commissioners.
Some of the friends of the Sunbury &
. Erie Load now profess to Lope that the
necessary funds will le furnished by Eng
lish capitalists, while others despond as to
its succeeding at all.

the 27lh April next, for the grading and ma
sonry of that part of the Susquehanna Rail
road, which will be between the borough of
Sunbury and Lewisburg, a distance of about
ten miles. Profiles vf the line and specifica.
tions of the manner of executing the work
will be exhibited at the said office for three
davs Drior to that date.
The line will be divided into sections of
about a mile in length, and proposals may be
made for each mile separately or for the whole
work.
Proposals may state what proportion of the
amount of payments, if any, wil be taken in
