The stage in which I wu passenger

the passeugers, at a email town in Vermont,

rival of the stage upon an intersecting
route, to proceed upon our journey, ci
gars had been lighted, and by way of pass
ing our time, we bad commenced a crititsl
examination oC the mammoth pictorial
posters of JJarnuni's Menagerie, which
covered the walls of the spacious bar-room.
Itanium's name opened a fruitful topic of
conversation ; every one present seemed
stored with anecdotes of the " Napoleon
of Showmen," the Woolly Horse, the Fee
jee Mermaid and Joyce Hcth were not
forgotten in the discussion which followed.
Suddenly, a long, slab-sided individual,
with an owl-like expression of wisdom and
dignity, who had been listening to our re
marks, with an evident desire to take a
hand, broke out

big concern ! Anybody would that had n't
Been it."
