Borough of Lewiaburg, hereby pive

thia date until the 1st day ol May next
For quarrying stone (at the quarry of
Wm. Cameron, Eq.) in separate lota of one
hundred perch each, to Macadamite part
ol Market street ;
Also proposals for hauling and delivering
stone on Market street, in lots of one hund
red perch each ;
Also proposals for breaking the said
atone (in lots of one hundred perch each)
to such sixa aa will pass through a two and
i inch ring, and
AUo proposals for the delivery on Mar
ket ft reel of lour hundred perch of paving
sione.in separate lots of one hundred perch
each, of the following sire, dimensions and
quality, to wit : the atone to be not less
than six nor more than eight inches long,
and the length to exceed the thickness by
at least one third, and to be of permanent
and durable quality, suitable for street
paving.
All the above work to be done under the
superintendence and direction of the Street
Commissioners, and to be completed on or
before the 1st day of October neit.

f PHE Burgess and Town Council of the
JL Borough of Lewisburg met, April 1,
1850, lor the purpose of adopting measures
fur the better regulation of the streets, pave
ments, and alleys therein, and after mature
deliberation the following resolutions and
ordinances were unanimously adopted, to
wit :
I. Resolved, that as the pavements and
side-walks were intended for public as well
as private accommodation, we deem it im
portant and necessary, and hereby orduin,
that all obstructions on the same shall be
removed. We therefore authorise and re
quite the street Commissioners to remove,
or cause to be removed, all obstructions
on the streets, pavements, and side-walks,
so far as practicable, without ret peel to
persons, giving due no ice to all persons
who shall have in any way obstructed tne
streets, alleys, pavements, or water-courses,
to remove the same, allowing them rea
sonable ana'sufBcient lime for said remo
val. and in case any person shall neglect
or refuse to comply with this ordinance,
the street Commissioners shall proceed
forthwith to remove such obstruction, and
leturn the said person or persons, with a
bi!l of the costs or such removal, io tne
Burgesn, who shall authorize and require
the High Constable to rolled a fine of five
dollars, together with the bill of costs ol
snid removal, from each and every person
so returned : and if said person or persons
shall refuse to pay the aaid fine and bill of
