ARRESTO STRANISSIMO
WASHINGTON, PA. —Uno dei rari
arresti che la storia della Contea di
Washington ricodi é quella certa
mente messo alla luce oggi dalle au
torità conteali di qui che riuscirono
a procurare l'arresto dei connazio
nali Agostino Pinozzi e Adamo San
teri, avvenuto nel Porto di Havre,
Francia. Gli arrestati saranno estra
dati di bel nuovo in America, sotto
l'accusa di aver rubato 32 barili di
whisky del valore complessivo di 25
mila dollari, a danno della distilleria
di Vandergrift, vicino a Centerville
sulla riviera del Monogahela.

that in America the vote of the Slavs
here is more numerous than
that of the Italians and that self in
terest is more than justice. He spoke
of open treaties and condemned se
cret diplomacy, yet has he made
known to the world ali of his secret
agreements? Other countries have
their wealth in coal, in iron and in
petroleum.
Italian Industries Weak
Italy has none of these essential
products of modem industry, 'but
has instead her ports and their com
merce. She does not ask other na
tions to give her their coal.and iron
for nothing, on the contrary her Eng
lish Allies during the entire war
made her pay preposterous prices for
these materials. Then why sliould
they wish to force from her one of
' her principal sources of w ealth, ap
propriating to themselves financial
enterprises and cheating the Italian
people out ot their livelihood and ex
istence? Are the Allies Bolsheviks?
Ali the world has condemned and
rightlv censored Germany for her
; disregard and refuse to sign the pact
of London, signed by them in their
hour of need and sacrificed with
blood of the courageous Italian sol
diers. The Italians are a sincere and
trusting people, they always had a
great friendship and esteem for the
American people, but now they feel
! disillusioned and their faith is shak
en, yet stili I hear them say, "It is
not the American people but Wilson
and his clique Italy is a land of at
least 3 ; 000 years of civilization from
the Siculi, the Illyrian and the Etrus
can to the Saniti and the Roman,
from Belisario to Columbus, from
Archimedes to Galileo, from Virgil
to Dante, Raphael and Michelangelo,
Volta and Garibaldi, through ali the
centuries down to our present day in
D'Annunzio and Marconi, Italy is one
long line of the greatest genius that
the world has ever produced. Let
the Americans understand and ap
preciate what Italv has done and as
they have fought and won their free
dom a centurv ago, appreciate and
' help Italy, who has fought, sacrificed
and shed the finest of her blood and
yet is kept from freeins: her people
from servitude
