P. R. R. PAYS $188,339 CLAIM CLEARFIELD, Pa., Jan. B. Attorneys representing the Pennsylvania Railroad Company and the Sonman Shaft Coal Co. met today in the prothonotary's office, where the railroad com pany gave its check for $lBB,- 339.71 in settlement of the judg ment obtained against it by the Eonman company in the dis crimination case which has been carried through many courts. This is one of the largest ver dict payments ever received in Clearfield county. JUNEAU COAL CO. RAILROAD Contract for grading the sec ond track of the B. R. & P. Ry. between Marion Center and Home, Pa., has been awarded. The present passing sidings be tween these stations will be con nected up, thus making a double track for three and one-half miles. New passing sidings at Clar ion Junction, Pa., will soon be completed by the 8., R. & P. The large increase in business has made it necessary that these sidings be constructed as soon as possible. It is also announced that as soon a sthe material can be se cured, the automatic block sig nals will be extended from J. & B. Junction to Clarion Junction, just north of Johnsonburg, a distance of twenty miles. Forty signals will be required to pro tect this piece of track.
