Tom Ridge signed three execution warrants yesterday for a Dauphin County man and two Philadelphia men, bringing the total warrants signed to 40 since he took office last year. Execution by lethal injection were planned March 19 for Aaron Jones, 34, of Philadelphia; March 21 for William A. Johnson, 30, of Philadelphia; and March 26 for Joseph D. Miller, 31, of Dauphin County. All executions are scheduled for 10 p.m. at the state prison at Rockview. Jones was convicted of first degree murder and criminal con spiracy for ordering the 1990 assassination of Bruce Kennedy. He is an inmate at the State Cor rectional Institution Greene. State College police are located Johnson was convicted of first degree murder and related offenses for fatally shooting John McDonald on June 10, 1991. Miller, an inmate at the Greene prison, was convicted of first degree murder for the beating deaths of two women in Dauphin County in 1987 and 1989. He led police to both bodies at the Swatara Township landfill in 1992 after his arrest for the rape and attempted murder of a third woman. Miller was tried and convicted in 1993 of the kidnapping and first-degree murder of Selina Franklin, which occurred in May 1987, and the first-degree murder of Stephanie McDuffy, which occurred in November 1989.
