Mock rape trial to be held tonight
The Center for Women Students will sponsor a mock acquaint
ance rape trial at 7:30 tonight in the HUB Assembly Room. Dis
trict Magistrate David E. Grine and other officials will assume the
roles of victim and defendant and a student jury will be selected
fr-m the audience.
DAR sponsors sponors presentation
The Daughters of the American Revolution will sponsor a pre
sentation by Mrs. Raymond Franklin Fleck, honorary president-general
of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revo
lution. The presentation, "Do It Now," will be at 8:30 tonight in the
Nittanv Lion Inn Ballroom.
Chevrolet scholarship available to seniors
Chevrolet is awarding $l,OOO scholarships to students at all
universities that have football teams that will play at the Univer
sity of Notre Dame this fall.
Penn State is being offered one scholarship. University seniors
must apply by Nov. 2 in 315 Shields.
To apply, students must:
■ Be seniors by the start of the 1992 Fall Semester.
■ Have at least a 3.0 cumulative grade point average.
■ Demonstrate financial need.
■ Display outstanding participation at the University or the local
community during their college career.

15-year-old
girl runs away
Jennifer Gilbert, 15, of
Stormbreak Runaway Shelter, 143
W. Fairmount Ave., was report
ed as having run away from the
shelter at about 7:45 Sunday
evening, State College Bureau of
Police Services said.
Gilbert has orange-blond hair,
is 5-foot-l-inch and weighs 98
pounds. She was last seen wearing
a black suede jacket, jeans and
black sneakers.
■ Burglary: William Thomp
son of 601 Glenn Road reported
that a jewelry box and jewelry
were taken from his residence
sometime between Friday and
Sunday, State College police said.
The jewelry included about 60
pairs of earrings, a string of pearls
and a gold ring.
The property is worth $770.
■ Rules and Regulations: Tan
ya Clark, a resident assistant in
Tener Hall, reported late Sat
urday night that someone was
firing a paint pellet gun from the
eighth-floor window of Pinchot
Berkeley serenader charged
with disturbing the peace

BERKELEY, Calif. Add one
more name to the list of Berkeley
characters: Rick Starr, a campus
crooner with a song in his heart and
a summons in his pocket.
The charge: disturbing the peace.
The problem?
His somewhat off-key serenades
at the University of California,
These office hours are in effect
while classes are in session
during Fall Semester, Spring
Semester and Summer Session.
Hall, University police said
Officers located two students
and took the gun to University
police services for storage, police
said.
No criminal charges were filed,
but the students will be referred
to the Office of Conduct Stan
dards, police said. Police would
not release the names of the two
students.
■ Theft: Rich Cenci, 307 C
W. Hamilton Ave., reported that
someone took his Cannondale
mountain bicycle from where it
was locked to a fence post near
Frear Building between 9 and 10
yesterday morning, University
police said.
The bicycle is worth $7OO.
■ Theft: Catherine Fleming of
805 Old Boalsburg Road report
ed that two bicycles were taken
from in front of her apartment
house sometime between Satur
day and Sunday, State College
police said.
The bicycles are a men's black
10-speed Murray Street Cycle
worth $l5O and a pink and white,
20-inch Huffy worth $5O.

Thomas Ventresco. The campus
administrator has filed a complaint
saying the stress of working 50 yards
from Starr's lunchtime perfor
mances is causing him to lose sleep
at night.
Starr, 46, contends he is pro
tected by the First Amendment
the campus, after all, was the
birthplace of the 1960 s Free Speech
Movement.
