The Lady Lions committed four errors on the afternoon and were guilty of several untimely wild pitches and passed balls. Only one of the Lady Cavaliers nine runs was earned. Penn State, 8-6, was playing its 14th consecutive road game. The Lady Lions had won six games in a row prior to Sunday. 'Lady Lion Head Coach Sue Rankin said playing away was not a contributing factor in her team's poor performance. "I don't want to make excuses," Rankin said. "We just did not play well defensively." Senior Co-Captain Michelle Turk agreed with Rankin. "The whole day was just frustrating, just a lot of NOTICE . Penn State travels to Ithaca today for a twinbill against the New York school. The Lady Lions beat Ithaca earlier in the year in South Carolina 2-0. Rankin said her team's opponent has probably improved since their early season meeting just as the Lady Lions have. Turk said the game is somewhat of a nuisance between last weekend's Virginia trip and this weekend's return there for the Liberty Baptist Tournament. The Flyers went down 4-2, 6-2 and 5-1 at the hands of the Washington Capitals in the best of five first round NHL series. During Saturday night's final game, the sellout crowd of 17,191 chanted, "Bob (McCammon) must go." McCammon, however, said, "We're not contemplating any changes now. We don't make decisions after losing in the playoffs in three games. We'll talk about some things over the summer. There is a possibility that McCammon, the general manager as well as coach, may fire himself in favor of assistant coach Ted Sator, who directed the team from behind the bench four times this past season. He was 4-1. Sator coached five years in Sweden and won five championships before returning to this country for the job with the Flyers.
