14—The Daily Collegian Monday, June 20, 1982 Former AC&C workers hold pay rally By S.A.MILLER Collegian Staff Writer Former employees of the American Color and Chemical Corp. in Lock Haven are today protesting both poor severance pay offerings from AC&C and the fact that none of.their immediate families will be screened for possible exposure to toxic chemi cals. In a rally scheduled for 10 a.m. at the AC&C site, the former employees hope to show “exactly what they are dealing with in AC&C.” AC&C, which lies adjacent to the Drake toxic waste site, closed last year but maintains a skele ton crew of about eight to perform routine mainte nance at the plant. At one time the company, which made mostly dyes and herbicides, employed as many as 400 people. “The things we’ve been hearing and reading in the newspapers have us scared,” said Lynn Robin Allegheny - Women's Center • abortions • free pregnancy and related counseling Mon-Fri 9-5 Sat KM Call collect 412-362-2920 After 5 Special Cheese NachosW reg. $1.29 good for 1 order after 5 p.m. with coupon only thru 6/27/83 ranurs pK 131 S.
