GSA sponsoring Halloween party tonight
• The Graduate Student Association
will sponsor a free Halloween party for
young children from 5 until 9 tonight in
Kern Building. Activities will, include
costume judging, apple bobbing; fortune
telling, movies and a haunted house.
Children must come in costume.
• The Student Nurses Association will
hold a Student-Faculty Halloween Tea
from 11:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. today in the
Living Center of Human Development
Building.
• Today is the deadline for course in
itiator’s forms for the Free University.
Forms may be returned to 223 HUB.
Parked car hit in Caider Way
• A car owned by Donna S.' Favata,
Pottstown, was struck by an unknown
vehicle yesterday while it was parked
in a private stall in the 300 block of
Calder Way, the State College Police
Department said. Police estimated
damage to the car at $6OO.
• State College police said a parked
car owned by the National Handicap
ped Driver’s Association, Springfield,
111., was struck by s an6lK6r''car in a
hit-and-run accident on West College
Avenue near South Burrowes Street
yesterday.

Violence occurs at polls
during Jamaican elections
KINGSTON, Jamaica (UPI) -
Violence flared anew as Jamaicans
voted under police guard yesterday in
crucial parliamentary elections that will
decide on a future of socialism or free
enterprise for the Caribbean island
nation.
Conservative candidate Edward
Seaga, who survived an asassination at
tempt less than 24 hdurk 'Ckrlier, was
caught in the midst of a gunbattle short
ly after the polls opened. He was
unharmed, although one bullet hit his
car. ’
Seaga’s motorcade drove unwittingly
into the gunbattle while checking polling
stations in West Kingston. The battle, in-

be 75 cents for members and $1.50 for
non-members. Prizes will be awarded.
