The Daily Collegian Friday, May 9, 1980---1 I
The North Stars momentarily got back into the game
at 17:11 when Al Mac Adam scored from about five feet
in front of Myre. It was the North Stars' first power
play goal in their last 30 attempts.
But before the period ended, Bob Dailey boosted
Philadelphia to a 4-2 lead with a slap shot from behind
the right circle at 19 : 28.
In the second perkid, the Flyers increased their lead
to 6-2.
Leach scored his second goal at 3:33 when his cen
tering pass from behind the net hit the skate of a North
Star and glanced passed the Minnesota goaltencier.
Less than three minutes later, Barber took a pass from
Mike Busniuk and scored from the edge of the crease.
Minnesota's Rob Flockhart made it 6-3 at 14:43, but.
Bobby Clarke scored for the Flyers at 16:19.
Like the Flyers, the Sabres also got on the
scoreboard in the first period as John Van Boxmeer
scored on a power-play goal. He also set up a goal by
Richie Dunn in the second period to back the
goaltending of Bob Sauve and give Buffalo the victory.
