    Dies shortly after announcing engagement
Moon, of The Who, dies of
i g LONDON (AP) Keith Moon, the
wild, raucous drummer of The Who rock
group, was found dead Thursday by his
fiancee hours after announcing their
engagement at a party.
The cause of death was not im
mediately known, but a spokesman for
Moon said he did not die of a drug . -
overdose.
"This is the first thing people think
of," the spokesman said, "but he died of
natural causes."
Moon, 31, known as the wild man of
rock because of his crazy stunts, an
nounced his engagement to Annette
Walter Lax, a 28-year-old Swedish
model, at a party Wednesday night given
by former Beatle Paul McCartney.
In 15 years The Who has been one of
the world's most popular rock groups,
possibly best _known for the rock opera
"Tommy."
Nashville man barricades himself in house
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (UPI) A man
barricaded in his house with an arsenal
