Beware of Work-at-Home Schemes
1. It is wise to get names of employees of the company to
learn of their experiences. If the company Is unwilling to
issue these names, they may be hiding something.
2. Beware if you are required to purchase goods or services
from the employer. An item may be of poor quality or of in
flated price.
3. If you are sold instructions or kits to make items at home,
be sure you realize the company’s role. Some offer to buy
back only ''quality” finished products and then reject all
.work. You may be forced to sell the finished item your
self with no payment from the company.
4. If you are asked to address envelopes, check the details.
Some companies supply only lists of names; ypu must pur
chase everything else. You may, be paid only for the
number of responses the company receives.
5. Always beware of companies that offer incomplete infor
mation, no payment from the company or glamorous op
portunities for little work.
If you do run into any consumer or housing
problems, stop by the OTIS office at 20
HUB or call 865-6851.
