now before the Pennsylvania
Senate Judiciary Committee,
The bill will delete a section of
the revised penal code that
instructs a jury "to evaluate
the testimony of a victim or
complaining witness with
special care in view of the
emotional involvement of the
witness and the difficulty of
determining the truth with
respect to the alleged
activities carried out in
private."
According to Robotti, this
provision serves only to cast
doubt on the credibility of a
rape victim. "This charge to
the jury singles out a
