Attending Secondary Universe—the conference of the Science Fiction Research Association and the Modern Languages Associ,Aion. • Penn State is hosting the sixth' annual Secondary Universe conference this weekend in the Keller Conference Center. Among the authors on campus are Hugo Award winners Roger Zelazny, Frederik Pohl, Harlan Ellison, John Brunner arid Gordon Dickson. According to Phillip Klass, professor of English and Conference co , eliairman, "This is the first time that as many limiters will be involved in this conference." For a $5 registration fee, students may attend four days of the conference. Registration for, non-students is $8.50. Saturday night will feature an awards banquet where the. Klass said Stanley Weintraub's Institute for the Arts and Humanistic Studies "has, come up with a tremendous, amount of money to make it possible for ;us to bring people here from all over the world." One of the people Weintraub, also an English professor here, has brought to Penn State is Julius Kagarlitski. A recognized authority on H.G. Wells, Kagarlitski won the Pilgrim Award last year. He is one of the speakers scheduled for Saturday's banquet. Another international conference visitor is Izzy Abrahami, an Israeli playwright and novelist. He will read a paper entitled "Political Systems and Science Fiction" Saturday. Abrahami wrote a futuristic musical, "Kfotz," which Klass said "was suppressed by the Israeli cabbie.
