The primary purpose of the Greeters is to keep students informed of career possibilities by maintaining contact with professionals in the hotel and restaurant field. Members get experience in quantity food preparation by cateringi buffets and teas for themselves and local and campus groups. The Greeters hold a major buffet once each term in the Maple Room of the College of Human Development South. The Greeters aiinually send reaesen tatives to the New York Hotel Show at the Coliseum in November, an expbsition of the latest developments in the hotel industry. The Greeters maintain a - booth at the show and are available to provide information about the Hotel and Food Service curricu lum at the University. The club also publishes an alumni news letter, "The Transcript," once each term. The Penn State Hotel and Restaurant Society is a major contributor to its financing.
