good condition. The race boiled
down to a three-way battle for
the first four miles between
Lampman. Spino and Leuthold,'
with Morris hanging a little
way back.
At the foie•-mile mark Lamp
man dropped off the pace, but
Morris picked up. Then Leu
thold began to sprint, and the
,race finished in that order.
This win gives the Lions an
'overall season record of 3-2.
The loss dropped the Orange to

Phi Kap, Delta Sig Win
To Remain Undefeated
In Intramural Action
In IM football played on the golf course field last
night, Phi Kappa Sigma gained its sixth victory with
out a loss by blasting Alpha Phi Delta 28-0. The winners
scored early on a halfback pass from Bill Chapas to John
Skaneski. Skaneski and Capas then reversed roles as
Skaneski threw two TD passes
to Chapas. Phi Kappa Sigma
completed the scoring on a pass
from Jeff King to Jim Broad
hurst. Winni Nussbaumer kicked
all four PATs.
Triangle downed Phi Mu Delta
12-0. Jim Kennedy touched the
Phi Mu Delta quarterback, Fred
Derr in his end zone to give the
winners an early 2-0 lead. Bob
Dombroski kicked a 20-yard field
goal to make the score 5-0 at the
half. The only touchdown came
when Al Laudermilch recovered
a fumble in the Phi Mu Delta

scored when Chuck Rupp downed
the Watts I quarterback in the
endzone. Rich Rittmuller booted

soccer team Saturday, 3-0, and
jolted the Lions' hopes of mak
ing the NCAA playoffs.
The Owls, led by All-Ameri
can Dan Kopycienski and John
Boles scored in the first, sec
ond and fourth periods while

Inside left Kopycienski was
a thorn in the Lions' side. He
scored with only four seconds
remaining in the first quarter,
and again with three and a
half minutes to go in the half.
Boles, playing center half, kept
the Owl's attack rolling with
sharp passing and good defen
sive work.
The Lions' showing was de
scribed by coach Ken Hoster
man as being "too individual
istic. When we had the ball it
looked like one player and ten
spectators on our side."
'Hosterman said a lack of
teamwork and sloppy passing
hurt the Lions but he did not
withhold praise of the Temple
squad. "Their offense was ex
plosive," he said, adding "they
were really up for us. I guess
they hadn't forgotten last
year."
Last year State crushed an
unbeaten Owl team 6-0, but
history didn't repeat itself

still wind up as a coach with
