"We're going to beat them and that's it," captain George Edwards said yesterday. "In fact we're going to win our last three matches." THE ENTHUSIASM of the en tire squad is high and even coach Charlie Speidel is hopeful. "Although they have really whipped powerhouses like Pitt and Lehigh, most of the wins in the individual bouts were real close," Speidel said. "With a little luck, some of the the matches could have gone the other way and the team scores would have been close." However, the veteran Lion coach said that the Orange are still a powerful team. "They have a great squad with a strong corps of wrestlers," Spei del added. "They have good bal ance and their heavyweights are tremendous." SPEIDEL SAID that his Lions could go to Syracuse and get beaten badly. However, he also added that the team is lucky in that the strong wrestlers from both teams will meet each other. "If we can sweep these bouts, then we stand a good chance," Speidel said. "Of course, it's hard to hope for something like that." Key bouts Saturday will find undefeated Bob Haney meeting unbeaten but once tied Bethel "Sonny" Greenhalgh at 130 pounds. Greenhalgh handed the Lion wrestler his only loss of the dual meet season last year. He owns a tie with Pitt's great sopho more Mike Johnson this season. ANOTHER IMPORTANT bout will have captain George Edwards (6-0) meeting Dick Slutsky (5-0). The two didn't wrestle in last year's meet as Edwards dropped to 137 for the bout. Slutsky lost, 5-4, to Ron Pifer. At 191 pounds, the Lions' Ed Pohland will risk his unbleinished 3-0 mark against footballer Gerry Everling. The Syracuse wrestler owns five straight wins this sea; son.
