Musicologist To 'Lecture
Denis V/. Stevens, a distin
guished visiting piofcssor in the
music department, will begin a
series of music lectures at 8 p.rn.
tomorrow in 200 Horne Ec South.
He will discuss the different
combinations of instruments and
voices which were used in the
music of the Renaissance. Since
art and literature give many hints
as to the way the musical groups
of this period ' were organized,
Stevens said he will use tapes
and slides to illustrate the lecture.
Stevens not only conducts and
performs, but- also writes books

Bob Fisk (8.A., 1954) joined New England Telephone
in Boston during 1957 and in less than three years was
promoted to the position of Accounting Manager.
Quito an accomplishment when you consider Bob is
responsible for the work of five supervisors, and 45 em
floyees! He needs a staff this large to handle the immense
ob of preparing monthly hills for southeast Boston.

College in England and studied
privately in Paris.
For several years he was a
music critic for the Oxford Times
and then he became a violinist
with the Philharmonic Orchestra
of London. He also worked with
the British. Broadcasting Corp.
Before coming to the University,
Stevens was a professor at the
Royal Academy of Music in Lon
don, Cornell, Columbia and Mc-
Gill. He is also the conductor
and founder of the Ambrosian
singers, a professional group.

The revised library question
naires distributed last term will
remain available as long as stu
dents continue to fill them out,
Mrs. Margaret K.’ Spangler, as
sistant librarian, said yesterday.
The questionnaires are designed
to determine the library needs of
the students. Unlike older ques
tionnaires, the new forms ask for
the student’s name and' address
