Fabric Quality
Different' qualities of cotton fabrics within one price
range can save the buyer if he can distinguish between the
superior and the inferior qualities of material.

percale and gingham in sets of
five were ranked.
The first set of each type of
fabric was ranked - without the
aid of label information. The sec
ond set of each type of fabric was
ranked with the aid of the infor
mation found on the label except
for .the price, and the third was
labelfed with the price only.
. LABORATORY evaluation of
such properties as color fastness,
shrinkage, strength and appear
ance after laundering will give
information about the actual
quality of the fabrics purchased.
