Leasure, assistant dean of men, said yesterday. ; A sth term student in the Col lege of Home Economics / and a sth term student in the Division of Counseling were suspended for attempting to steal \ a mattress from a residence hall, Leasure said. The students had intended to use the mattress fin a town apartment, he added./ , The home economics student was suspended Until. the end of the spring term 1963, while the Division of Counseling student was= suspended until the end of the winter term 1963, Leasure said. ' The home' economics student’s penalty was more severe, Leasure said, because he was oh discipli nary probation at the time of the incident. Choir to Tour 7 Countries j The approximately 70 members of the Chapel Choirs who are going on the European tour this Summer will visit seven countries, |Willa Taylor, director of the Chapel Choirs, said yesterday. Tentative plans have been made to tour England; Amsterdam, the Netherlands; Cologne, Germany; Geneva and Riffleberg, Switzer land; Florence and Venice, Italy; Salzburg, Austria; and Paris, France. THE GROUP will present 14 concerts while on tour. The pro gram for the concerts has not yet been selected, but the music will all be sacred and will emphasize the works of 20th century Ameri can composers. The performances will either free or the ad mission fee will •be presented to a local charity, Mrs. Taylor said. Nigeria The students will also attend concerts at the Holland Music Festival in Amsterdam and at the Salzburg Festival ini Salzburg. The students making the six week tour must pay/all their ex penses, which will be approxi mately $l,OOO, Mrs. Taylor said. Any of the 350 members of the Chapel Choirs who-feels that he can afford to go may request to audition for the triD. At present, 70 people have been accepted for the trip, which is al most fully subscribed.
