AEPi Display
Places First
The Interfraternity Council
Homecoming Lawn Display, con
test was climaxed last night when
Alpha Epsilon Pi, Delta Tau
Delta and Delta Sigma Phi were
named as the winners of first,
second and third places respec
tively.
The Alpha Epsilon Pi display,
entitled "Devour the Indian,"
consisted of an -Indian village of
teepees overlooked by a ferociouS
gold- Nittany Lion. A campfire
mouldered in the middle of the
village, and torches surrounded
the entire display.
DELTA TAU Delta's display
featured a huge purple and gold
"tau" with smaller purple and
gold "delta" balanced from each
arm. The left hand delta contained
a gold lion. while an orange rested
in the right hand delta. The dis
play's title was "Victory in the
Balance."
A campus coloring book was the
central theme of Delta Sigma Phi's
display. Two Syracuse players
were pictured on the pages of
the coloring book with instruc
tions to color the Orange Men
- "black and blue." A box of crayons
was placed beside the coloring
book, which was entitled "The
Lion's Coloring Book."
The - new trophy, which has
been on display in the Hetzel
Union Building, will be presented
to Robert Fishbein, president of
Alpha Epsilon Pi, at the Alumni
luncheon at 11:30 a.m. in the HUB.
The old trophy has been retire.
by Kappa Delta Rho, winner or
three consecutive years.

nection with Homecoming kend. '
Poster Contest
Won by Niftony
A big, blue-eyed lion with a
paint brush in hand, gazing upon
an orange football dripping with
blue paint won the Men's Resi
dence Council "Beat Syracuse"
banner contest Thursday night.
Da' id E. Stoddart, president of
Nittany 26, and Jonathan Green
accepted the first place award for
the winning,poster entitled "Paint
the Orange Blue:" Stoddart said
that all members of Nittany , 26
helped in the banner's construc
tion.
THE OTHER finalists in the
contest were York House, Pollock
Halls; Bucks House, North Halls;
and Sycamore Hall, ,West Halls.
The.Poilotc poster was entitled
"Sksssh!" and pictured a big.
brown lion squashing an ameohi
like orange mass.
A poster entitled "Mend - for
Sat" and picturing a blue-clothed,
smiling lion standing on Beaver
Stadium and squeezing. orange
juice into the stadium was the
Bucks House entry.
The Sycamore entry shows' a
Lion with a Penn State uniform
numbered "RV standing on a
bandaged player who has a big
red footprint on his back. The
poster called "Taste of Victory,"
shows the lion drinking a. glass of
orange juice. /
