Norman’s time, however, easily
smashed Horace Ashenfelter’s
1949 meet record of 9:18.
STEVE MOORHEAD, who paced
the event for the first 'mile, before
yielding to Norman's ! greater en
durance, finished second in 9:22.9.
Dick Tuft also ran a fine race,
finishing-- third in 9:50.2 to com
plete tjie clean sweep.
