Jazz 'Folk Mass
The 20th Century Folk Mass
will be presented at 4 p.m. tomor

The folk mass or "jazz mass"
as it is commonly called, was writ
ten by Geoffrey, Beaumont, an
Anglican clergyman from Eng
land,; during the 1950's in the folk
idiom.
• Folk idiom means music that
is most familiar to the, people at
any particular time, Mrs. Kuhre
explained.
The "Jazz Mass" attempts to'
make the service used by the,
Lutheran church more, meaning
ful to the common man by using
a language and music that is
familiar to him, shecjsaid.
