Thirty-five contestants for the
Miss Penn State title will be inter
viewed at 7 p.m. tomorrow at the
Alumni Office in Old Main.
The five finalists, who will be'
selected from this group, will at
tend a banquet •next Tuesday at
the Nittany, Lion Inn where they
will meet with the contest judges,

Miro Pictures Displayed i
An exhibitioh of 12 original
prints by Joan Miro, a leader' in
the.Vurrealist movement, were on
diblplay yesterday in 105 Tem
porary.
The exhibit includes six color
lithographs, four etchings and two
combined etchings and aquatints.

permsnent collection of the Mu
seum of Modern Art, New York
City. They were made available; Tapping cards for all men's hat
to the-University through the mu-'societies are now available in .the

The Miss Penn State Contest
has been a part of Sprint Week
since its beginning in 1949. The
title was originally Miss Penn
State Spring Week Queen but was
soon shortened to its present form.
The winner of the contest. in
1953 was chosen from five photo•
Iraphs by actor. John Wayne. The
lueen wls crowned that year by
Mamie Eisenhower. The following
year actress Mary Pickford and
I .:velyn Ay. the Miss 'America of
1 954. both placed the crown on
:he queen's head. '
