Open Bidding
• The Panhellenic Council voted
last night to close the period of
open bidding for all sororities ex
cept Delta Sigma Theta, Alpha
Kappa Alpha and Sigma Sigma
Sigma who previously were
granted permission to hold open
[bidding until the end of the year.'

ident-said that no girls have been
ribboned in the past few weeks
of open bidding. The open bidding
period has been in effect since
the close of formal rush In Jan
uary.- •
The three sororities still eligible
have been granted permission to
issue bids until the end of the
year because they have' not
reached a membership of 35. Miss
Chadwick said. Panhel voted
earlier this year that sororities
[ with a membership below 93
would be allowed to continue

THE COUNCIL also discussed
revisions in its constitution at its
meeting last night. Judy Walks,
parliamentarian, said. that the re
vised constitution now groups to
gether articles which refer to the
same topic.
In the present constitution, she
said, regulations are set forth in
the main body and then elaborated
on in the by-laws,
The, proposed constitution will
be voted on at the next meeting.
In other business, Miss Chad
wick, reporting on judicial pro
ceedings, said that 13 sororities
exceeded the rush budget of VS.
Each group reported its offense,
'she added.
MISS CHADWICK said that
there will be no formal hearing
or official action unless the of
fense is repeated in forthcoming
'rush periods.
