'PAGE' TWELVE Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra To Perform Tonight in Rec Hall The program to be presented byj the Pittsburgh Sym phony Orchestra at 8:30 tonight in Recreation Hall will con sist of compositions by Berlioz, Mendelssohn and Bartok. Over 1,000 student tickets will be available today at the The Overture, -‘Roman Carni val” by Berlioz will open the Artists' Scries program, followed by Mendelssohn’s '‘Symphony No. 3 in A Minor." After, inter mission, the orchestra will play Bartok's “Concerto for Orches tra.” THE ORCHESTRA. conducted by William Steinberg, places spe cial emphasis on •performances for youth and industrial workers. When not on tour, it devotes 37 concerts each year to young audi ences. In addition, it gives an annual Saturday < evening concert for teenagers, after which the audi ence is invited to a coke party with Steinberg and members of the orchestra.
