noon, and a low of 4 below zero
is indicated for tonight. Tomor
row's high will be about 6 degrees
above•zero.
Partly cloudy skies, gusty winds

should continue through tomor
row. Little or no snow accumula
tion is expected.
No significant warming trend
is expected here for at least five

Record-breaking temperatures
were recorded further and further
south yesterday as the cold wave
plunged into the Gulf states.
At the warmest part of yester
day `afternoon temperatures
ranged from the 30's along the
western and central Gulf coast to
zero and below in the north
central states.
The mercury failed to icach the
zero mark yesterday in Chicago,
Milwaukee, Des Moin e s, and
Omaha.
